Running low on memory?!?

Featured Replies

I'm running 2GB of RAM on my system, lately since beginning to use the Transmission Plugin more frequently, I am having a whole host of issues, from server stability to not being able to access shares... From other posts, it seems likely that I am coming up against a lack of memory. So, how much memory can unRAID handle? If I double up to 4GB, will unRAID still be able to access all of it or is there a cap?

Thanks for any insight.

Edited for spelling

4gb is safe, everything above has had some negative results... I can also report that with 4gigs installed I can run everything in my sig without any issues.

Thanks peeps, I'll be ordering up 2x2GB today... I can't be having these issues.

I'm running eight gigabytes, I haven't had anything too bad other than plex being a bitch when it comes to indexing shows (Which, apparently based on the plex forums, is common for unraid boxes).

Then again, I'm only using ~ 6GB with:-

Simple features (All addons)

Running 4 preclears

Sabnzbd (Downloading 1 15GB file)

Transmission (Idling)

CouchPotato (Looking for 2 movies)

Sickbeard (Quite a lot more, not sure exactly)

Unmenu

and that's it, I believe.

EDIT:- oh, and plex. I believe that's streaming 1 1080P video at the moment, not sure though (Last I checked someone in the household was watching a show, but, they may have stopped by now).

EDIT2:- oh, and cachedirs going down to the 5th directory tree.
