Since the number of sectors re-allocated did not change with 4 preclears, would this dive be ok to use in the array?  If not how about a cache drive?

I would not trust that drive at all.  the SMART attribute for sector pending re-allocation is very weird...

I might suspect poor power to the drive, since it seems it was able to write the original set of sectors pending re-allocation in place, but the huge numbers I'm seeing are really bad.

I would test that disk with the manufacturer's own test disk.

I already ran the manufacturer's drive test and it passed the extended test and the write zeros.  I did that between the 3rd and 4th preclear.  I have 2 other drives also showing the same kind of results but just not so many sectors.
