How to connect to unraid webgui from Mac

Featured Replies

How can I access the unraid webgui from a Mac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 with Safari?

When I type Tower I get a server not found message. Typing the ip-adres works, but accessing the various unmenu screens screens is troublesome.

ip-adres:8080 gives me the main page of unmenu but accessing mymain and other screens gives me cannot find server.

I've had an issue like this with my iphone, it seems as though it refuses to use local hostnames. I've read that adding ".local" to the end of the domain works, but, I've yet to try it.

Try to do:-

tower.local:8080

Although, since all the images will be hosted on "tower:8080/file.ext", no images/scripts/etc will work.

Works perfectly with a router that supports local DNS!!

I personally connect to my server on my mac, iPhone, etc as tower, tower:8080, 8081...

Edit your hosts file to do tower to the server IPs address if your router doesn't support local DNS.

And, may I ask, how would you edit the hosts file on a iphone?

EDIT:-

Not programming related, but I'll answer anyway. It's in /etc/hosts.

You can change it with a simple text editor such as nano.

(Obviously you would need a jailbroken iphone for this)

From stackoverflow, my point.

Well, you may ask, but it might be better to start your own thread, rather than thread jack this one.

The answer above, editing the hosts file, works perfectly for the OPs question. You will have to copy the file to a new location to do the editing, and authenticate when you try to copy it back, but UnMenu should jump from page to page without issue.

unMENU can work with just the IP address, if you add two lines to the unmenu.conf file (and have unRAID use a static IP address)
