March 2, 201313 yr Hi, I am using UnRaid 5.0 rc11 (paid version). I originally had three 2T drives (one parity) and later added a fourth 1T drive. I only have one share (media) set to high water, level 1, all disks included, none excluded. So my directory structure would be media/movies/movie folder/movie file or media/TV_Shows/tv show folder/season folder/show file. My problem is this, when I try to copy new stuff to any of the folders (movies, TV_Shows, etc.) it ignores the 1T drive, and just copies to one of the original 2T ones, If I copy to the share root (media) it copies to the 1T drive as I would expect it too. The 2T drives are 91% and 86% full, besides it copies to the 1T drive when copied to the root of the share. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it? Thank you
March 2, 201313 yr with the structure you mention you are going to need at least a split level of 2! A level of one will only allow the media folder to be replicated across disks. For any folder below that once it has been created on a disk all further content of that folder (and its sub-folders) is constrained to the single disk. This explains the behaviour that you are seeing. A split level of 2 would allow folders such as media/TV_Shows and media/movies to also be replicated across disks and only sub-folders of those constrained to a single disk. I think that is the behaviour you are looking for?
March 2, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the fast reply, I actually ended up going with split level 3, split level 2 seemed to work as expected until I started using sabnzbd, and such, than splitting didn't seem to be working correctly again. Setting to split level 3 seems to have cleared that up! Thanks again!
