October 11, 200817 yr I have been running my 4TB Unraid server for a month now and have been very happy. Finally got around to setting up users since I want to restrict other users on my network from modifying files on certain shares. Here is my problem: With User Level Security set I can not map any of the user shares. I am running Unraid ver 4.2.4 and trying to map a drive on Vista 32bit. Is there anything I need to do on my Vista machine to allow me to map drives ? Also is there a way to see the users that have been created and view the properties of those users ? Thanks in advance Kent
October 11, 200817 yr Does your vista login and password match what is on the unraid server? What specific steps are you taking to map the drive? Can you open the drive through the network browsing interface? ie clicking on network then tower then the share.
October 11, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the reply I figured it out....I missed the part about no capital letters in the username. A follow up question though. Is there a way to export disk shares only for a specific user? I would like to still have access to the disk shares for administrative purposes but the need to be disabled to restrict access for users. Thanks Kent
October 16, 200817 yr I think that is a feature only in the paid versions of unRAID. There's a place to do it the free version, but it's grayed out.
October 18, 200817 yr Author camaroer, I have the pro version of Unraid. I would love it if there were a way to restrict the export of disk shares so i can manage the server at the disk level, but users only see stuff they have access to. If there is a way to do this please let me know Cheers, Kent
