Toshiba 3TB drives Newegg $114.99

Featured Replies

The recent reviews seem very awful. Enough to make me wait, anyway.

Just found a WD 3TB at Staples for $129.99. If you have a coupon you can drop it more (got mine for $120). Have to pay tax though.

In nine years, I've never purchased a retail disk. That would be very odd...

I was under the impression that Toshiba 3.5 inch drives are basically Hitachi drives now? WD had to offload the 3.5 inch segment in order to acquire HGST. Toshiba didn't make 3.5 inch drives before WD bought Hitachi. HGST drives used to be excellent, hard to see how they could have screwed it up in less than a year.

You are correct they are Hitachi drives, I currently have 3 of the 2TB drives in my unraid setup, I find them to be faster than my seagate 2TB drives and my WD drives.

That promo code is good on up to the 5 drive limit.  So you end up getting $125 off on an order of 5 drives.

I bought 2 of those in March. Very fast (faster than Barracuda 3T) and quiet. Precleared 3 times in a row without any issue.

Ordered 3 more this morning.

Going to pick one up for a warm spare. I've got a Seagate that's acting flaky.
