root@Tower:~# -- what to do here?

Featured Replies

after long failed attempt to boot up an old computer, I decided to try the UNRAID on a newly built one but got this message during the boot up sequence:

"

Tower login: root

Linux 2.6.24.4-unRAID

root@Tower:~#

"

In this case, I really don't know what to do next. I kind of searched within this forum, I saw some very complicated instruction and I am not even sure they are relevant to my problem here if it is a problem.

Please help if you can.

Motherboard: BIOSTAR TFORCE TA780G M2+

Hard Drive: 2 Seagate 750GB Serial ATA Internal Hard Drive 16MB

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz

Originally the PC was operated with Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

My USB flash drive is Lexar Firefly 1GB

Thanks.

I see no problem, it has booted and you logged in as root.

Assuming you have the unraid box networked, go to a web browser on another system on the network and go to "tower".

thanks a lot. I kind of get it.

is there any instruction for further setting instruction after book up?

thanks much.

Think of the unraid box as an appliance - there is little you need to do to your refrigerator other than plug it in.

Similar with unraid - you should now be able to store files on the various drives that you can get to via network places.  If you want to use other features, such as user shares, then check out the instructions in the wiki.

The trickier parts involve work required when something goes wrong, such as a bad drive.  If/when that occurs, come back here for advice.  Very few people are 100% comfortable moving forward without some level of assistance.
