March 12, 201313 yr Hey All, added a bunch of new drives to the server and in the process I realized that I had included my (disk7) music only disk in the TVshows user share. Now that I have added space is it safe to just copy the tvshows directory on disk7 to one of the new drives and then exclude the music only disk from the tvshows share. system is 5.0rc11 Thanks, Dave
March 12, 201313 yr Yes. I have done something similar to that myself in the past. You do not mention how you are going to move the files. Note that if you do at the Linux level via a telnet session you are likely to need to run the newperms command afterwards against the target disk as moving files at the Linux level is likely to mess up file permissions. If you are moving them via the network shares then this step is not needed, but it is likely to be much slower.
