July 1, 201412 yr hi RobJ, what is the procedure to update the card in regards to unRAID? Once the card is upgraded, how will unRAID understand the previous disk allocation to slots and all?
July 1, 201412 yr A firmware flash ins't going to change anything in unraid and dev assignments, i think thats all hardware. With unraid your just passing data through the card like a basic sata card without raid function not running it in raid mode. Hell worst case just write down hdd to disk mount point and resign them that way, but at a hardware point of view i have never seen or herd of a way to change ports assignments via firmware, lol you could rewire a sas breakout to sata to do so though
