March 14, 201313 yr Similar deal to last time: Costco has Seagate 4TB external drives for $169.99 ... these are $10 more than last month, and this offer expires on March 20th. Previous thread is here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=25675.0 I just picked up a few more, these were all NA5K2### serial numbers for the enclosure ... all three are ST4000DM000 drives, and none have a (holographic) sticker preventing you from extracting the internal drive. In case it matters, the "Windows 8" logo is printed on the outer boxes. Note: The DX drives are faster, but they are also hotter ... and apparently a pre-clear cycle isn't as brutal on the drives as a parity build/sync operation as previous testing seemed to indicate the DX drives wouldn't get *that* hot. To be fair, the DX drives may also run hotter in an Icy Dock 5x3 enclosure than in their original USB 3.0 external enclosures. Sadly, the level of heat generated is causing problems in my setup ... so I'm going to start migrating to the DM drives.
