3tb and 4tb support

Featured Replies

I'm using the latest RC and it has been running ok. RC11 I think it is. Does this RC11 work ok with 3 and 3 TB drives ok? I'm updating my drive sizes and don't know which size to use. Thanks.

I am using 4TB drives with 5.0rc11 without issue.  Works great.

Using 6x 3TB drives with no problems (upgraded from 5.0beta without any issues)

I'm still running 5.0-rc3 with 4TB drives, no issues.

UnRAID supports GUID partitions and should support disk partition of up to 9.44 ZB - zettabytes.

I wanted to state something similar, that basically this is a moot conversation since it works with 3TB drives, above the 2.2TB limitation of MBR partitions.

For trivia's sake, in 2009 it was estimated that the entire World Wide Web was only half a zettabyte.

1ZB = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes or a quarter million 4TB drives.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll grab a 4TB for my parity (just to cover in case I want to get another 4TB down the road in the array. A few years ago I would never imagine I'd have 22TB of HD space.
