March 21, 201313 yr Installed this and now my unRAID wont start. Parity is not valid now, 5.0-rc5 was running fine. NOW WHAT?! UGH!
March 22, 201313 yr Not much to go on. Is it not booting at all or some other problem? If it's not boot at all see here
March 22, 201313 yr Author Well, I deciced to reboot, on console I stopped *ALL* services, except emhttp, stopped the Array parity check and to my surprise it said Parity Valid. I quickly copied the 5.0-rc5 bzroot and bzimage and it's been running since. Not sure what happend, but here is all I did before switching to 5.0-rc11: 1. Parity was not valid so I let it run until complete (I had found the server locked up - i'm from FL so temperature was hot) 2. updated Plex to v0.9.7.17.469 from v0.9.7.14.407 3. CouchPotato_v2 automatically updated to 5ac1118db3af88e10a79ed799d5de0ff43297ec6 I think I am going to leave it at 5.0-rc5 as long as it doesn't give me any more issues. Im also backing up my "DATA" share to DVD in case of catastrophe... I could care less about multimedia stuff. EDIT: Also I think I am going to go Intel... Maybe core i3 or something but AMD doesn't like heat too much IMHO. Gotta look for a motherboard with 6 SATA II ports though and compatible with unRAID.
March 22, 201313 yr It would have been better to find out *why* it wouldn't start under rc11. Did you keep a copy of the syslog from that session?
March 22, 201313 yr There's steps in the upgrade instructions that need to be followed - did you do them?
March 22, 201313 yr Installed this and now my unRAID wont start. Parity is not valid now, 5.0-rc5 was running fine. NOW WHAT?! UGH! How do you know that parity is not valid if unraid won't start? The only "problem" I had when going to rc11, was that I had to run make_bootable.bat, not a real problem at all though.
