[SOLVED] NIC issues - unsupported?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to upgrade my working 4.7 to 5.0 but I don't think my NIC is being recognized.  I only have one NIC not 2 so that's not the issue.  I've tried DHCP and static, no luck.  Tried a fresh install of 5.0 and same thing.  ifonfig just shows the local IP whether I set DHCP or static.  Log is attached which mentions eht0 not existing(that can't be good!).

Can someone tell me if it looks it looks like my NIC is unsupported and if so can you recommend a supported one I can purchase?

My mobo is an ASRock 880GM-LE w/Realtek RTL8111DL.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

There seems to be a major problem with rc12 and RTL8111 series NIC's.    These NICs seem to work with rc11 so you may want to see if that works for you?

Interesting  ???

I will give that a shot, thanks.

I see that Tom has just posted in the announcements section the fact that rc12 does not include the correct RealTek drivers and he will be posting a rc12a shortly to correct the issue.  Maybe you want to wait for that?

Yep grab 12a, it's out now.

:(  I tried several times today to upgrade from rc10 to rc12.  rc12 would not recognize my NIC card.

My motherboard is 'MSI-Z77A-G41 1155 ATX'.

I had to go back to rc10.

:)  NIC Problem Solved, when I performed the rc12a upgrade.
