Freezing while trying to rebuild array

Featured Replies

I accidentally pulled a drive while the server was live (thought it was an empty tray to install a new disk) and when i shutdown and reboot it shows that drive as failed. When i go to rebuild the array it gets to something like 3-4% and then freezes. I have left it for a couple days and still not improvement. I have tried moving the disk to a different spot, and even went and bought another disk (same size etc) and tried to rebuild with that one. Same result. Not much of a computer guru, I know just enough to be dangerous. What else do i need to try to resolve this?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

You may be having an undiagnosed problem with different drive that is causing the rebuild to fail.

sdd is the cache disk, not sure if that makes a difference?

sdd is dying. You should disconnect it until the rebuild is complete, at least.

its just i thought the cache had nothing to do with the parity and other drives, so wasnt sure if that would affect my freezing problem.

removed the cache drive and attempted a data rebuild, still seems to freeze

Check for BIOS updates for the MB and SATA card. Use rc12a.
