March 24, 201313 yr Hey folks, I think this is my first post. After lots of reading I took the plunge and am currently running unRAID, latest release candidate 5.0-rc11a. I've got it set up with the SABNZBD, SICKBEARD, and COUCHPOTATO plugins (thank you influencer) despite having little to no experience with linux. Here is my problem. For some reason, I can't seem to get to all of the files in my sabnzbd folder over my windows network. I've set up a share on my cache drive entitled "appdata". My sabnzbd download path is as follows: /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd Completed files go into /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/complete/tv or /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/complete/movies Incomplete downloads go to /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/incomplete I currently have some stuff downloaded, which Couchpotato was unable to rename tagging them _UNKNOWN_. I can see these files if I look at the /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/complete/movies/ directory through the standard webgui. Unfortunately, when I go to move things around from my Win7 machine over the network, the /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/complete/movies folder doesn't exist. And this is not the only folder that can't be seen from windows. I also can't see /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/Downloads/incomplete Here is what I have tried. 1. control panel show hidden files (already checked) 2. telnet in with PUTTY and typed in the following commands: chmod -R 777 /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/ and chown -R nobody.users /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/ 3. changed the run as user field for sabnzbd and couchpotato to various combinations of 'nobody' and 'root'. Now, at some point, I did in fact manage to get access to these folders through windows after running the chmod and chown commands, but have now lost access after stopping my array and rebooting. I'm pulling my hair out at this point. I started messing with this because couchpotato was taking FOREVER to rename files, and I'm not sure that that problem has been fixed either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
March 24, 201313 yr How are you trying to access them via windows? "mnt" isn't a folder that is ever shared, so, that lack of information confuses me. I can see them (but not access them, because I don't have permission, and, I really don't care that I don't) at:- \\Tower\cache\appdata\sabnzbd\Downloads\completed\TV Shows\ Although, loading that does throw up a "You don't have permission to be here" text box, but, I can see them.
March 24, 201313 yr Author Thanks, you are right. When browsing on the network I can get to where those folders should be by going to: Network/tower/appdata/sabnzbd/... or Network/tower/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/... But again, when I navigate here via windows I can't get to .../sabnzbd/Downloads/complete/movies or .../sabnzbd/Downloads/incomplete It's like they don't exist (except that I know they exist and that they have files in them because I can see them through the webgui)
March 25, 201313 yr Author Ok, I managed to get access to these areas over the network. I did it by mapping a network drive and logging in as 'root@tower' Its a bit janky, but it worked, so I'm not complaining. Still wish I knew why I had to have root access to see these files.
March 25, 201313 yr Author Scratch that. I was able to access the files by logging in as root@tower but no longer. WTH
September 15, 201411 yr I am having this exact same issue. Before finding this post, I had tried everything that the OP had tried. I'm very confused. My difficulty is with one folder \cache\appdata\nzbget\downloads\dst\tv. From a console I can open this folder and see subfolders and files, but from Windows 7 64bit I can not. The odd thing is that from within windows, I can access the neighbor folders just fine (i.e. \cache\appdata\nzbget\downloads\dst\Movies). There seems to be something other than file permissions at play here, but I can't figure it out.
