March 26, 201313 yr I am running unRAID in ESXi 5.1 with a pair of MV8 occupying the x16 slots. I had to disable the onboard SAS/SATA ports due to issues. I have an open x4 slot so I think my best option is just to get another card. Here are my requirements... 1. Obviously must be supported by unRAID 2. Must be supported by ESXi in passthrough to the unRAID VM 3. Since I have a Norco RPC-4220 I am limited to 20 total drives (officially anyway). For that reason, I can get away with just a 4 port card. Here is my thinking: Most of the 4 port cards that are multi-channel are pretty damn expensive. Is my best bet to just get an M1015 and sacrifice 4 ports? If I did that at least I would have 24 drive ability if I ever decided to move to a Norco 4224. However, if someone knows of a suitable 4 port card that will cost me only $50, I would go that route. TIA for the help! John
