RockDawg
I've been asking for a lot of help on here lately and have been wondering what you all feel the best way to post long chunks of text like logs and stuff. Would it be preferred to post a pastebin link, attach the file seperately, or paste in the post using the code tag? Each method has it's good and bad points. I know the code tag inserts a scrollable window and prevents a post from becoming huge, but I wonder if some feel it's too hard to browse long documents when you have to scroll so much. Pastebin links and attachments allow a much larger view, but require opening/viewing something outside of the thread. I seem to be seeking help often and I'd rather post things in the most convenient way for those helping me. So I wonder... which do you prefer? Quote Link to comment
RobJ
I can't speak for others, but I prefer just the simple forum attachment for syslogs, as syslog.txt if normal size or syslog.zip if large, and the use of the code tag if it is something very short or an extract of something else. I find pastebin's, imageshack's, etc are extra work, but then I'm lazy! Quote Link to comment
NAS
pastebin for sure. much neater than messing up the forum Quote Link to comment
