March 28, 201313 yr I have just installed the Transmission plugin on my unRAID server, taking my desktop computer out of the loop when downloading torrents. Many thanks to prostuff1, Benni-chan, Influencer, piotrasd and anyone else who has made an input to this. If anything, the remote web interface for Transmission is nicer than the standard one. Great stuff! Now, the other download mechanism I use on my desktop computer is Jdownloader. It seems that a Jdownloader daemon has been planned for more than two years, but is not yet implemented. Is there a similar application which can be run as a headless daemon on an unRAID server, with remote control? Better still, has anyone implemented such an application as an unRAID plugin?
March 28, 201313 yr Hi PeterB, That is my problem as well. What I did was install a VirtualBox plugin install ubuntu and install my Jdownloader there since virtualbox can run headless. Now you can enable the web of the jdownloader and access it on your browser. However the web is not friendly at all. So I ran splashtop on my ipad or iphone and access the ubuntu from there.
March 29, 201313 yr I also want this, not bothered to try since so many people say it doesn't work. I saw a few things on another unraid thread, but, they just weren't the same as Jdownloader:- http://pyload.org/ https://code.google.com/p/plowshare/ http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=10883.0
