April 2, 201313 yr Author I had a WD 2TB drive that behaved like yours, when I contacted WD about it they said to RMA it. Took about 2 weeks to get the replacement. Regards, Stephen I should have stuck with Seagate Either way, should I do a parity check before shutting everything down? Or would that potentially cause more problems? Also how would I know which drive is ATA3? I only see letters liks sda and sba when looking at the drives from unmenu.
April 3, 201313 yr The parity drive is bad so a parity check will not be useful. You could try to pre-clear the drive and then post a new SMART report.
April 3, 201313 yr Author The parity drive is bad so a parity check will not be useful. You could try to pre-clear the drive and then post a new SMART report. I'd thought it would be safer to RMA the drive. It's nice that WD also has the advance replacement so it shouldn't take to long to get a new drive! I'll update this thread once I have everything up and running.
