October 22, 200817 yr Alright looking for a little help because i'm diving headfirst into building my first server. i've built 2 computers but thats it so far. i have an antec three hundred case i found at microcenter for $30 and i had an old 500w power supply sitting around i found this mobo on newegg for $40 after MIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186151 it has 4 SATA ports and a 1000mbps ethernet so it looks like a great deal to me. i saw a few threads about a foxconn mobo not going to post but that was back in january and didn't know if anyone else has had similar problems. i found this single core processor for $30 on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819104319 i plan on hooking up 6 hdd's eventually so i'd also like any recommendations on SATA controller cards Any advice or tips for a noob would be appreciated as well! thanks
October 22, 200817 yr Check the Hardware Compatibility wiki page. There is an ECS board with similar specs to the Foxconn. Your chances look good. Also check the Motherboard forum.
