I just installed crashplan on my unraid as I want to backup a part of it to crashplan central. Everything is set up and it is running great. Can I now remove ssh as crashplan will run on its own? I don't want anyone hacking my server. The way I understood it I could simply reinstall ssh when I need to make a connection with the install.

and another question: how do I remove SSH once it is running? Right now i simply deleted it from the flash drive & rebooted but surely there is a more elegant solution ;-)

If you follow this (its for Red Hat) it shows you how to change the server to allow network connections, I have not tested this yet, there may be extra steps required.
