April 8, 201313 yr Running preclear on some 3tb WD RED drives. I got one done quickly, it's plugged into the motherboard. The other 4 are plugged into the SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8, and getting terrible speeds. Just read that I need to disable INT13 in the BIOS of the card, so I'll try that when I get home... any other ideas?
April 8, 201313 yr Disabling INT13 just makes it so that your computer won't try to boot from any of the drives on the SASLP-MV8, it shouldn't have any bearing on write speed.
April 8, 201313 yr I would look at a smart report for the "slow" drives and see if anything is apparently wrong with them. You could have bad drive(s) - not likely but you could. Otherwise try moving them to MB ports and clear them again and see if that fixes your speed problems.
April 8, 201313 yr Author Motherboard is Intel DZ77SL50K. Latest RC of unRaid (12a). I do plan on plugging in to the MOBO to confirm it's the sata card later on once i get home. The issue will be fixing the sata card
April 9, 201313 yr There are several reports of the MV8 cards running slowly with rc12a and certain motherboard configurations. Try going back to rc10 and see what happens.
