April 9, 201313 yr I have an SM X9SCM-F and i was planning to connect my parity directly onto the sata 3 port on the mobo. Do i have to passthrough the entire controller to the unraid vm? Is this going to have negative side effects? This is how my passthrough-window looks like.
April 9, 201313 yr It's either the whole controller or nothing. You can RDM the drive though. If ESXI is connected to the same controller you will break your install.
April 9, 201313 yr Author It's either the whole controller or nothing. Ok that is what I thought. You can RDM the drive though. What do you mean with RDM? If ESXI is connected to the same controller you will break your install. Is there a way to test what is on what controller. I have read somewhere that this could also influence the GPU or NIC.
