Got the Hardware... Will it work with ESXi?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was hoping you all could take a look at my build and tell me what you think... i got this hardware really without much concern to whether it will work or not... My mistake... I was interested in building a ESXi system but here in the UK we dont have much selection of hardware and also the cost is in some ways much higher... so i got this hardware for cost... in hind sight i should have gotten a MOBO with more PCI slots as it seems i might be limited to the 12 SATA ports that i have in its current form unless there is a PCI Express SATA controller that i havent seen yet... I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts...

Case: X-Case RM 305 3u Chassis with 13 HDD Spaces- 550mm Depth + Rails

MOBO: AsRock N68C-GS FX Motherboard (Socket AM3+, NVIDIA GeForce 7025, DDR3, S-ATA 300, Micro ATX, ASRock XFast USB and XFast LAN)

CPU: AMD ADX640WFGMBOX Athlon II X4 640 - 3.0 Ghz AM3 CPU, Retail Packaged

RAM: Kingston Technology KVR1333D3N9/8G 8GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 DIMM Non ECC Memory Module

PCU: 500 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY QUIET 20-24 PIN with SATA

SATA Controller: Neewer 4 Port Serial ATA SATA to RAID PCI Card Adapter SIL3114 With 2 SATA Cables

HD: 9x WD Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gbps Power Saving Internal Hard Drive OEM

Thank you for taking a look...
