Network Connectivity Loss

Featured Replies

Hi,

Once in a while the power fluctuates in my building.

Once that happens I have to reboot my unRaid server as the network connectivity is lost.

Is there a command I can run to fix the network connectivity?

Thank you

You really ought to get a UPS. Those fluctuations could damage your hardware. Hook the router/switch and the server up to it and you'll be OK.

I do have two UPS already. Still happens.

Try typing:

/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 restart

I do have two UPS already. Still happens.

Something is not right. That shouldn't be happening if the whole network are on a UPS.

I will try that command next time it happens and let you know.

Ya half my apartment is on one UPS and the other half on the other UPS.

The UPS are not at full capacity so that isn't the issue.

The entire network on the UPS nothing is off.

Thanks for everyone's replies. Much appreciated.

If the UPS's do not share a good common ground, it could induce a voltage differential between their independent outputs. If this happens frequently enough to test, I'd get a heavy duty extension cord (12gauge) and plug both UPS's into a single well grounded outlet to test that theory. If the wiring in your apartment does not have good grounding it can cause all sorts of strange issues.

Most definitely. My apartment has horrible circuitry/groundage.

None of the devices ever power off during outage but just that one machine looses connection.
