reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd in SYSLOG

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have the following message in the system log, repeting every 30-60 minutes.

"Tower kernel: usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2"

Is this OK, or I have to modify something to fix this?

Thank you!

Seems to be rather rare in occurrence, and I am unable to help you understand what is causing it.  I only found 2 cases of it, one followed by error messages and then a disconnect of the device.  Unless it is followed by an error message, it seems safe to ignore.

Are you using an external USB disk?  Perhaps it is when it is spinning up?  I'm thinking this might be the case especially if you are powering the disk from the USB port.  It might not be able to supply the power needed without an external power source.

(I was trying to think what might be occurring at 30 to 60 minute intervals)

No external USB disk, the only USB device is the stick which is running unraid.

However, after a few days contiously producing these messages, I restarted unRAID, and now it is disappeard.

At least there is no message like this in the last 4 hours now.

Thank you for your support!
