My disks just went missing! [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

I need some help folks!!!

Everything has been going great with my project to migrate my production 4.7 unRAID to 5.0, some new disks and then VM under ESXi.

I am running 5.0-rc12a.

During the process of moving my working VM onto a final production datastore, the disks showed up missing on the main page.

I've pulled out the ESXi and went back to native booting directly from USB key. The best I can guess is that the SASLP-MV8 just started suffering massive problems. See the attached log file for all of the disk error problems.

Setup:

Intel DQ77MK with Core i5 w/ 16GB RAM

Supermicro SASLP-MV8 card

6 HDD's (2x WD 3TB reds, 1x 2TB Hitachi and 3x 1TB Seagates) all attached to SASLP-MV8 card

Crucial 2GB flash with unRAID Plus key

Please help as my production server is down!!!!  :'( :'( :'(

Thanks!!!!!!

I making some progress on this.

It is either 2 ports on the SATA4-7 connector or it is 2 cables on the SFF8087 cable. A few more experiments should yield the final results. Either way an RMA of something is in my immediate future.

Sigh.....  :'( :'( :'( :'(

Bad port 5 on the SASLP-MV8.

It will be on it's way back to Newegg soon. I'll probably replace it with a M1015 instead.
