May 14, 201313 yr Ask, and nothing happens because I was working on this anyway. I have a BTSync Plugin I am working on right now. I am trying to work all the bugs out now Attached is the alpha plg for btsync It downloads and installs btsync from amazon. The plg lets you updated the plg, update, start, stop, enable, and disable btsync There is also a link to the BTsync web interface. Testing has shown that setting remain after restarts and reinstalls. The Plugin: [LINK REMOVED -- USE THE LINK IN THE POST BELOW] #This Plugin installs and provides btsync support for unRAID. #This plugin was shamelessly copied off of overbyrn's dropbox scrypt #But I hacked the crap out of it, because btsync has a web interface #If I am feeling whatever I may write an interface and use the local config #Breath holding not recommended

I never did have the time to finish my version.
May 14, 201313 yr Mine is a complete hack job. (hense v0.1) (But then my Cruncyroll XBMC plugin, which is matinance of someone else's code, after a year, 30 releases and 23,000 users is only v0.6.5.1) If you get your's done I would be willing to migrate the users of mine to your's That is if you think it is needed. Did you plan to add features?
May 14, 201313 yr To be honest, I doubt I'll work on my plugin anymore. I've a ton of other things I'd like to do when time permits and as I don't anticipate using btsync myself, I'm probably not the best person to maintain a plugin.
May 14, 201313 yr The plg lets you updated the plg, update, start, stop, enable, and disable btsync Thanks mate for putting this together. Mine doesn't launch I am afraid, clicking the settings hyperlink gives me this: http://192.168.178.2:8888/ But it finds nothing. Stopping and starting and restarting does nothing. Not sure what I can do to help diagnose.
May 14, 201313 yr Can you telnet in to you unraid box and check if /usr/local/sbin/btsync is on your system? when you installed the plugin it *should* have pulled the install from amazon and put it there. the link is to the btsync web server. it opens on port 8888 on your unRaid server also, if the file is not there, please click "update build" if it is, please click "update plugin" ...there was a bug in an older build that on stopping it wouldn't clean up correctly. but that shouldn't be on google code... And http://xkcd.com/1168/ is too true!

May 14, 201313 yr /usr/local/sbin/btsync should be the BTSync executable so if you run /usr/local/sbin/btsync the server should come up. SO, it is there and not running. First, dose it say that btsync is enabled? If not please run 'rm /var/run/btsync/btsync.pid' Then you should be able to start btsync
May 14, 201313 yr /usr/local/sbin/btsync should be the BTSync executable so if you run /usr/local/sbin/btsync the server should come up. SO, it is there and not running. It looks to me and my experience thus far that the plugin doesn't launch this: /usr/local/sbin/btsync If I run it manually, everything works snazzy as. Can reproduce that everytime so far. Hope that helps.
May 14, 201313 yr You have a bad copy of the plg. For some reason Google Code gave you an old copy of the code that failed to delete the pid file As far as I know that was fixed before I posted to this thread. So if you update the plugin sooner or later you should get the version that doesn't have this bug. A friend of mine was unable to replicate the issue, so I think that is what happened. My experience is that drives will spin down normally. Looking there is a bug that it won't start when the array is brought online. As far as I can tell the updating code is working, so as I get time I will make some bug fixes and changes.
May 14, 201313 yr You have a bad copy of the plg. For some reason Google Code gave you an old copy of the code that failed to delete the pid file Sorry to be annoying but this is still not working in the traditional way for me. I clicked the update plugin button but I have done this three or four times already. I re-downloaded the .plg from your link on the previous page and overwrote my copy and then rebooted the server. The same problem persists. I've attached the .plg file on this post incase you want to look and confirm its the old one. btsync.zip
May 15, 201313 yr OK, can you remote in run "/etc/rc.d/rc.btsync start" and tell me what it says? "btsync daemon already running!" It doesn't show up as a device on my other devices and the web interface doesn't run unless I do this: /usr/local/sbin/btsync "BitTorrent Sync forked to background. pid = 12708 Appreciate your help if thats worth anything.
May 15, 201313 yr Kill BTSync the run the following rm /var/run/btsync/btsync.pid /etc/rc.d/rc.btsync start If that works, run /etc/rc.d/rc.btsync restart That will tell us if it is a one off or a persistent issue. And I am glad to work with you on this. If you are having this issue, so might someone else.

Ok so I rebooted the server so BTsync wouldn't be running in any fashion. I started the plugin and confirmed it wasn't working. Then I ran the commands: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6653462/Results.png Its not running at this stage, I checked it after running each command and it seemed to have no effect each time. Sorry if I did it wrong.
May 15, 201313 yr As much as it pains me I can not for the life of me replicate the issue. I would try removing /etc/rc.d/rc.btsync and re-installing the plugin. I removed the everything and it worked fine for me on re-install. And this is how I feel at this moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=APp8-sklM2s#t=34s
May 15, 201313 yr As much as it pains me I can not for the life of me replicate the issue. I would try removing /etc/rc.d/rc.btsync and re-installing the plugin. I will remove everything and try again after work. Is it possibly related to my setup? I don't run SimpleFeatures so maybe something related to that? The plugins I use are: Crashplan Sickbeard Sab
May 15, 201313 yr I honestly don't know. But maybe, I stole code from several other plugins and it may be that what I ended up with conflicts with those plugins. So if you reload start with BTSync, and if that works add the other plugins. If something breaks, then we know. And I get to start renaming variables. Has anyone else installed this? Are any of you having issues? A friend of mine installed it, and I know he has some plugins, but not those. Also, just as a general question, what features would you (royal) like to see added?
May 15, 201313 yr All plugin authors should prefix their variables to avoid conflicts.... ex btsync_variablename for your plugin etc Myk
May 15, 201313 yr I changed the all variable names that were conflicting ... I think ... and added update notifications, for the plugin, not btsync. That lists the version on it's config page. Clicking update should bring you current if you already downloaded the plugin. You *may* need to disable and enable btsync to fix an issue with the config file. Feedback is encouraged. Once people say it is working I will start a new thread for this plugin.
May 15, 201313 yr Ok so that didn't seem to work, I think I will just wait until some more people have tried it to get a bigger sample size.
