smino
Guys, Does the super Micro require a special SFF to SFF cable? It works when I use the SFF to fanout cable, but not SFF-SFF. My Case Norco 24 dive bays, has SFF plugs. The Acera 1222 works great, once you realise you have to set the drives to passthrough mode...DOH! Think I will pick up another cheap used one. mrow
To connect your motherboard SATA ports to a Norco backplane that uses SSF-8087 connectors you need a reverse breakout cable, as opposed to the forward breakout cable you use to connect a controller card to individual SATA disks. http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemNumber=N82E1681613303 EDIT: Just realized you might have meant a Supermicro controller card, not a Supermicro motherboard.
