Plex v0.9.6.9.241-da3068c on 5.0-rc12a - metadata not being downloaded

Featured Replies

Hi,

I can't seem to figure out why plex v0.9.6.9.241-da3068c on my unRAID won't download any metadata for my movies.

Here's the overview of my setup:

new user share called "Applications" (cache only). In my unRAID> Settings > plexmediaserver, I then put:

Library directory:/mnt/cache/Applications/Library

Temp directory:/mnt/cache/Applications/tmp

In my plex settings [iP:PORT/web/index.html#!/settings], I have "Cine21" in the list of agents under my "Movies" section.

I've also done the CHOWN command on my entire array to make sure that it's not a permissions issue.

chown -R nobody:users /mnt/user/...[name]

What else can I look at to see what's going on? As I add movies into my Library, they are seen by Plex as thumbnails, but have no metadata at all (posters, descriptions, etc.)

Attached is my system log from http://tower/log/syslog

I'd first try updating to a far more recent version first - 0.9.7.22 is the latest: http://plex.r.worldssl.net/PlexMediaServer/0.9.7.22.511-4b5280f/PlexMediaServer-0.9.7.22.511-4b5280f-unRAID.txz

The Plex logs are stored in Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs - the Plex Media Scanner.log should give you a hint as to what is going on.

I did try out  plex 0.9.7.22, but then I found issues with that when fast forwarding through a movie. It would never fast forward. The metadata issue also is the same on that one version as on this one. So, I reverted back to PlexMediaServer-0.9.6.9.241-da3068c-unRAID.txz from my backup before I did the upgrade.

Looking in my plex media scanner .log file; I do see some "Error Parsing Content" in some areas:

I also see a weird IP address of 127.0.0.1, but I've set a static IP on my unRAID box of 192.168.1.150. Could there be some issue there?

127.0.0.1 is the address at which a computer accesses itself.  It's known as loopback.

And that's ok here, or is that maybe the issue?

I would suggest you post this over at the Plex forums and see what they can tell you - attach the whole Media Scanner.log though, snippets don't really help anyone.
