Added 3TB drive to MV8, and getting errors?

Featured Replies

So, I've installed, precleared and formatted via Simple Feature a 3 TB drive, which is connected to a MV8 along side a 2TB drive.  I noticed that the 2TB drive will spin down with all the other drives, but the 3 TB drive won't.  The little green dot next to the drive is solid and all the others are blinking.

There after, I found these two error in the system log

Apr 30 13:53:28 Tower logger:        missing codepage or helper program, or other error (Errors)

Apr 30 13:53:28 Tower emhttp: disk7 mount error: 32 (Errors)

I have not run the parity check yet, and I won't unless I can find out why it doesn't spin down, and why I'm getting those errors and what do they mean.

Thank you.

Those are status messages. They are not errors.

Three questions:

1) Is it safe to run parity check (uncorrected)

2) Will this status messages will always be present?

3) Why does the systems log states drive 7 is spin down, but in the unraid main page the little round dot is still solid green while all the other are blinking?

Thanks.

I uninstalled Simple Feauture and the errors/status comments went away. Now, I've got to find out why the darn #7 drive green dot stays solid when doing a spind down. I read someone was having the same issue, Burt I can find the post.
