7th HDD connected to MV8 card won't spin down!

Featured Replies

So, I've got 7 data drives and two of them are hooked up to a Supermicro MV8 card. When I click on the spin down button via the unmenu GUI all the drives spin down according to system log, but the 7th drive status light remains solid green.

I've tried changing the spin down time as a whole and individual drives, and it didn't work. It's just weird that the 2TB drive connected to the MV8 will display a blinking green status light, but the 3 TB drive doesn't.

I also change the disk setting to do spin up groups, and that didn't work either.  I've search the forum and Googled it, but didn't find an answer. If anyone knows how I can fix this I would appreciated.

To be honest, I am not sure. On that picture I provided, it shows like it is spinning, but if I go to the myMain page, where you can spin down/up individual drives it shows that it isn't spinning.  So, I'm thinking that even though the status is solid green on the unmenu GUI, the drive is actually not spinning.

I'm just wondering why the green status would be solid green rather than blinking like the others?

I am not sure how it got fixed, but now my 7th hard drive does have a blinking green color when the drive spin down.  ;D
