Segfault & other error's in my 5.0 rc8 rig !

Featured Replies

Good Evening Unraid Fans !

I have to say, I like this Software very much !

But now I'm facing some relative big problems: (see attachment)

examples:

May  4 22:13:12 storageserver kernel: sas: ata7: end_device-0:0: dev error handler (Errors)

May  4 23:10:45 storageserver kernel: unrar[13988]: segfault at 68 ip 00000068 sp bff856d0 error 14 in unrar[8048000+2e000] (Errors)

What did I have to worry about and what can I ignore ?

best regards from Germany

Christoph

edit: I have to say that I restarted my Server yesterday because of an crash of the web Interface, when i tried to restart the service it crashes in an segmentation fault error like this one from another thread:

root@HAL_9000:~# killall emhttp

root@HAL_9000:~# nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp &

[1] 6930

root@HAL_9000:~# nohup: ignoring input and appending output to `nohup.out'

[1]+  Segmentation fault      nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp

root@HAL_9000:~#

syslog-2013-05-05.txt

A restart should resolve segmentation errors -- but the FIRST thing I'd do is upgrade to RC12a.  There have been quite a few changes since the version you're using ... and just the upgrade alone may resolve your issue.

Thank you for your reply, I will try that tommorow after work !

RC12a has a nice changelog, that will be fun  8)

I will add that this (May  4 22:13:12 storageserver kernel: sas: ata7: end_device-0:0: dev error handler (Errors)) is just information of which error handler is being used an no cause for concern.

Thank you for your additional info !

I just Installed the newest build the "stop array and copy that stuff" way (GREEEEAT Software, great Software :))

I doesn't get that error until now, I will post immediatly if something changes !

edit: btw, I did not mention the "update unmenu" button, totally worth it, does not show the error handler in red anymore  8)

If you update unMENU, make sure you re-select the desired "skin" on the user-scripts page and then re-start unMENU to see the updated changes.  Until you re-select the newly updated "Horizontal" or "Vertical" menu skin, and subsequently re-start unMENU, you'll still be using the older version, even after the update/download.

Glad you like it.
