Struggling with Mysql installed through unmenu - db not visible after rebooting

Featured Replies

Getting to grips with most things, but tryed to setup mysql today to share my xbmc library.

I have installed mysql via the unmenu package manager, install disk label is cache.

Mysql installs fine, and after setting the permissions to user XBMC, and putting the advance settings in my xbmc client, i can open the client, and it creates the databases as expected. I can then scan, and populate the database

This is then readable on all my other machines.

the nightmare is rebooting.

Upon stopping mysql, then stopping the array and rebooting, then starting the array, mysql is no longer aware of the databases that were created.

if i log into mysql from the command line, and show databases; then all i see are 3 default databases - and not the 2 that xbmc created.

If i browse the user share using the web gui, i can see the folder names of the newly created databases - so they are still there, but mysql just isnt seeing them.

Any ideas - been at this all day, and cant figure it out.

For info, the /cache/mysql folder thats created is set to use the cache drive only

Please help!

Sounds to me like you are installing the application on the cache drive, the cache drive gets cleared/cleaned up by Unraid

You need to install the SQL db in a hidden folder on the cache drive /mnt/cache/.sql/ put a dot in front of the folder name and this creates a hidden folder.

Unraid doesn't touch hidden folders on the cache drive.

Give that a try.
