May 13, 201313 yr Any thoughts on how to restart server when using apcupsd from unmenu? It shuts down on power failure but it won't re-start when power comes back. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=15583.msg240999#msg240999 Thanks
May 13, 201313 yr Are you turning the UPS back on? Once it's off, it needs to be turned on before it provides power to the PC ... so even if the PC is set to turn on when power's restored, you have to restore the power for that to happen

When power is restored, the server will power itself back on. Joe L.

(You should not cross-post in two threads...) Apparently, the on-screen labels are poorly worded and have no affiliated description. Send PM to its author, suggest it be improved. Joe L.

I have installed this plugin from unmenu.

Option to turn off UPS is on by default in the unmenu, so I left it unchanged

I plug the power cable out of wall and then plug it back again (after server shuts down) You have to wait for the UPS to shut itself down. (and obviously also have the data cable connected to it so apcupsd can detect the outage) It should shut itself down after a minute or so AFTER the server shuts itself down. I have a feeling you did not wait long enough before plugging the power cord back into the wall. (did not give the UPS time to shut itself down) Are you using an APC brand UPS? or some other brand? Joe L.

Joe L. Ok, maybe I didn't wait long enough, I'll try that again. UPS is, ofcourse, connected with USB cable and I can see that server gets information from UPS. I click on 'power status' in the un menu, and I see all the data: battery left time, remaining load, etc.etc. After power failure, server does shutdown in a clean way.. I am using this UPS: http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BR550GI APC Back-Ups 550 Pro Thanks
