permissions are different when coping as "the new permission" script

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm testing AFP at the moment on my unRaid server. If you run "the new permission" script this are the settings:

Directories=drwxrwxrwx owner=nobody group=users

files=.rw.rw.rw. owner=nobody group=users

When coping files from a Mac Mini to a afp share on the unRAID server this are the settings:

Directories=drwxrwsrwx owner=marcel group=users

files=.rw.rw.rw. owner=marcel group=users

With other words the permission settings become a bit messy. Is this harmful? Can i prevent this from happening?

It's normal. The value for owner should not matter. AFP permissions are separate from Linux permissions.
