Copy Dropbox like clone

I found this and it appears to be another Dropbox clone. Gives you 15Gig of space to start with and each person you refer you get another 5Gig.

Feel free. Here is my referal https://copy.com?r=lOTwh4

without http://www.copy.com

Allows you to move your sync folder and it appears you can even put your sync folder on your unRAID machine if you are using Windows/Mac. I haven't played with the Linux version as of yet to see how it works. I don't have a GUI linux machine at home. I wonder if we can get this to run headless?

Been using Copy for a little while now for backups and what not and its been great, but could use a little more space, anyone able to help out?

If you sign up with this link we'll both get 5 GB of free cloud storage in addition to the usual 15 GB: https://copy.com?r=27yIxx

All you got to do is sign up  with my referal link > Confirm email > install app on mobile / tablet or desktop and login to app > Done.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Suggest you change your link to this https://copy.com?r=27yIxx.  As posted your's doesn't include the "r=27yIxx" which won't link to your account.  I will have to look at this tonight when I get home from work.  Need to get some cloud storage but have been doing backups on my network so far.

We might be able to get this running on unRAID.  The linux download looks to have a "CopyConsole" app that is the headless version.  It takes a username, password, and folder location on the command line.

I doubt I will have the time to mess with this in much depth but I believe this should be possible to get running on unRAID.

I'm afraid that's beyond my expertise lol, Be curious to see if the app keeps an array drive span up though?

Yeah I was playing with it today since I'm at work. LOL

It appears to have no file size limitations as for what size you sync. From the sounds of it there is a Maximum upgrade to 60GB of space. So far I started with 15GB when I signed up. Then 20GB because I followed somebody elses referal link. Now somebody else signed up so Im now at 25GB.

Its not my intention to spam the board with gimmie space, but saw the linux tie and thought man this might be a very good alternative to DropBox and if it works headless it could be awesome. Plugin maybe?

I've notice it follows whatever folder structure you throw at it and as well allows you to share folders without any file size restrictions. Kinda cool. Drop box does something very simular and seems to have set the standard. I've been tinkering with Amazon Cloud which works very well for syncing photos with my wife since we both have our own Drop Box accounts, but needed a central app for syncing photos and have been using that, but noticed you can't move your folder so your stuck where ever amazon says it must be.

Anyways I hope anybody who finds this useful uses it and if we could get a headless version working I would be in Hog Heaven. ;)

This is what I found in the Readme file of the linux install

2.  CopyConsole – This is a headless version of the Copy app. It can run

in a terminal or as a background process.

2.a    This version won't have a login prompt, so if you haven't logged

in before you'll need to provide at minimum a username and Copy

folder location. If a password isn't provided at the command line,

it will be prompted for. Example:

        CopyConsole -username=<email> -root=/home/<user>/Copy

2.b    If you've *have* previously logged in, either with CopyAgent or

CopyConsole, then no special arguments are required.

2.c    For more options, run: CopyCommand -help

Found some discussion here about this.

Wow that's a lot of space. I'd really like it, but figured if I gain a little space from helping out others I'm all for it. My goal is to get this working on unRAID too.

I had decent success figuring out how to get unRAID and a Pogoplug working long time ago, but got tired of battling hardware issues and relying on another device when I wanted my unRAID machine to do the heavy lifting for us/me. ;)

That's not how the saying goes!  :P  I'll have to check this out later when I get time.  Sounds interesting.  I'm not up to date on all the cloud sites, but 15GB of space for free is the best offer isn't it?

as far as I know it is.
