NIC bonding/teaming with 5.0rc12-13/final questions

Featured Replies

Okay, so I am not currently running the newer release candidates, yet.  I am interested in running it on my new build I am going to start very soon.  In terms of the NIC bonding support, I read that it is mostly for motherboards that have two onboard ethernet cards.  I am a big fan of using intel nic(s), especially for onboard.  But, I have an Intel quad port gb nic (PCI-E) that I have thought about using, if it will be supported with the new release candidates or final 5 version.

This is because I will either continue to host my ESXi diskstore over NFS to my unraid build or virtualize unraid within esxi.  I currently stream to a few devices:

- Up to 5 simultaneous plex streams

- (2) rasp pi xbmc strams, but usually never at once

- (1) WDTV stream

- occasional steam to my desktop

I have this NIC just sitting here and would like to utilize it, if it is going to be supported.  I don't get anywhere near needing (2) onboard 1gbps + (4) additional gbps streams available, but hell why not.

I am now in the same shoes as the OP.
