Difference between "user0" and "user" when copying TO a share???

Featured Replies

Is there a difference between using /mnt/user/MOVIES  and using  /mnt/user0/movies when your goal is to copy something to a share...but have it go to the cache drive instead?

I'd LIKE for CouchPotato to postprocess to my cache drive, but I can't point it directly to the cache drive because, of course, the /movies folder doesn't exist UNTIL something is placed into that share.  And as soon as the mover script runs, the folder's gone again.

I've configured CouchPotato to process TO /mnt/user/MOVIES  .... but the files don't seem to be landing on my cache drive.  The main unraid screen shows my cache drive's write count going up, but the files seem to be almost immediately moved to the array afterwards...and I notice that /movies exists under both /user and /user0

Any advice on how to accomplish this?

Yes, the difference between user and user0 is user0 is without items on the cache drive.

In your post you have movies in all caps in one place and all lower case in another. Do you have two difference shares called "movies"? The file system is case sensitive. You need to make sure you're using the same capitalization across the settings for your shares and your apps.

Otherwise you must have some settings set improperly in CP because CP does it's post processing from the cache drive with no problem for me.

Capitalization is my typo, sorry.  It IS consistent in my setup.

I'm afraid I don't understand your differentiation;  "...user0 is without items on the cache drive."

Postprocessing FROM the cache drive isn't my problem.  Sabnzbd saves files on my cache drive- in /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/downloads/complete/movies

My problem is having CP postprocess and save the movies back to the cache drive- in a folder which the mover script will pick-up.  I thought I had it licked- pointing it to what I thought was the movies share /mnt/user/movies but that doesn't seem to leave them there.

What I meant by "user0 is without items on the cache drive" is what you see in the Movies share under user0 will be excluding anything on the cache drive. To see your movies share, including what is on the cache drive, you look in user without the zero.

Can you take a screen cap of the renamer section in your CP settings and post it? Also, are you sure you have your movies share set to use the cache drive? Double check using the cache drive is enabled for that share.

I think you may have pointed me in the right direction!!  the cache drive wasn't enabled for that share!!

About to go change that and will report back..
