June 5, 201313 yr Hi guys, Anyone has already tested the Seagate ST4000DM000 4TB disks with the SuperMicro Seagate X7SPA-HF board - and how do this combo run? Thanks much and greetings! That board does support 4TB drives. As to the drives themselves, they are excellent. Very fast and the run very cool as well. I've got two of them, and will probably get another when I need more space.
June 6, 201313 yr I haven't used those drives in it, but I have an X7SPA and it is a superb board. I've got 6 3TB WD Reds, and it does a parity check with those in ~ 7:30. I have no doubt it will work very well with the 4TB Seagate DMs ... although my next build with that board is going to be next spring, with 5TB WD Reds
