June 6, 201313 yr I'm currently running unRAID 5.0beta-7 and was considering upgrading to the newest version. Are there any issues I need to be concerned with during the upgrade process? I have the following drives: Hitachi - 3TB - GPT: 4K-aligned Hitachi - 3TB - GPT: 4K-aligned - reiserfs Hitachi - 2TB - MBR: 4K-aligned - reiserfs Seagate - 2TB - GPT: 4K-aligned - reiserfs Does the fact that some are GPT and others are MBR matter? I've never had any problems with the server and everything has functioned flawlessly. Also, does the newest version support 4TB drives and is it out of beta yet? I'm also wondering how I actually complete the upgrade process? The wiki page that has instructions stops at 5.0beta-6 and has no instructions for upgrading from beta-7.
June 6, 201313 yr There's always a small chance of problems when upgrading; but I'd definitely upgrade now, as the v5 final is very close to release. Do a parity check to confirm all is good; and then follow the instructions for your version here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/UnRAID_Server_Version_5.0-beta7_Release_Notes
June 7, 201313 yr Follow the instruction under the heading All previous 5.0-beta and 5.0-rc versions including 5.0-rc8a. The disk formatting is normal.
July 4, 201313 yr I'm currently running RC15a and want to upgrade to RC16b. Is it just a matter of deleting bzimage and bzroot and copy the ones from the new release over, reboot server and reassign disks? Do i need to delete super.dat also? Thank you

Thank you Stop the array from the Web GUI (Don't shut it down -- just click the Stop button); copy bzroot, bzimage, and syslinux.cfg to the Flash drive (replacing the ones that are there); then just reboot the array from the Web GUI.
July 4, 201313 yr Thank you for the quick response. I will go ahead and try that after the pre-clear is done Thanks again.
