musicstar.ca
Hi Guys, Last week I got unRAID up and running on an old Athlon XP 2500+ computer. Everything looks good so far. I had a Celeron D 3.33GHz kicking around which should be a bit faster. Will this be adequate for the long run? My end state will be: Antec 900 case Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2C mATX LGA775 954GC 1PCI-E16 3PCI SATA2 Video Sound LAN Motherboard (4 SATA ports) 1 GB RAM Celeron D 3.33GHz LSI RAID card (4 SATA) 1 Samsung 1TB drive (parity) 1 Seagate 750GB (IDE) 2 Hitachi 750GB 1 Samsung 1TB drive on hand in case of failures. I'll be buying the 6 drive license next week. Let me know if the CPU will be acceptable. Thanks all, Pedro Link to comment
Billped
All data points at the CPU being the least important component. I actually underclock/undervolt mine to save energy. So the answer to any modern processor is ... yes, it will be fine. Bill Link to comment
