jus7incase
Hi there, I am going to buy TV tuner cards to have 2 DVB-C tuners. The CI-Card slot is not necessary onboard, I will have an external USB solution for that anyway. If you have experience with any of the following boards it would be great if you would share it (sorry the links are for Amazon Germany): Digital Devices Cine C/T http://www.digitaldevices.de/english/Cine_CT.html 2xC 160 EUR TBS 6680 https://www.tbs-technology.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=29&MODsid=d88e3132a60e72837549b062b3d9a3df 2xC + 2xCI 154 EUR TBS 6618 http://www.amazon.de/TBS-DVB-C-Single-Tuner-Kabel-HDTV-Empfangskarte/dp/B008HP544C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370783210&sr=8-1&keywords=TBS+6618 1xC + CI 90 EUR DVBSky T9580 http://www.amazon.de/DVBSky-DVB-S2-bootf%C3%A4higem-Terrestrisch-Empfang/dp/B00C6A2RXU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370783146&sr=8-1&keywords=DVBSky+T9580 1xC,1xS,1xT sat, 1x 80 EUR DVBSky T980C http://www.amazon.de/DVBSky-bootf%C3%A4higem-Terrestrisch-Empfangskarte-Nachfolger/dp/B00C6A2PBO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370783048&sr=8-1&keywords=DVBSky+T980C 1xC + CI 100 EUR DVBSky C2800 http://www.amazon.de/DVBSky-bootf%C3%A4higem-Empfangskarte-brandneuer-innovativen/dp/B008JA7PFG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370783091&sr=8-1&keywords=DVBSky+C2800E 1xC + CI 85 EUR Link to comment
electron286
like your post about tuner cards... To use such devices on a computer server that is running unRAID, you would also need to run other software, that is where the compatibility list and questions would need to be asked and sought after. Such software would either be run as an additional package run under the Linux environment of unRAID, or in a virtual environment, such as under ESXi. For a better chance of answers to your questions, look at these other forums; http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?board=6.0 Sorry, but even though it is a Hardware question, it is more properly asked under either one of those two specialized forums due to reasons stated above. Hope that will help you find the answers you are looking for! :-) Sounds very interesting! best wishes! Link to comment
electron286
If these cards are also going to be used with Tvheadend, and you are unable to get answers here in the unRAID forums, you can also try the Tvheadend forums. https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/boards Link to comment
jus7incase
Yes this is about TVHeadend to drive the tuner cards. Link to comment
nars
Did you found a good card? I would like to get one too, with good support on linux and preferentially with drivers for it included on latest kernels without the need for crap vendor/3rdparty patchs etc... Link to comment
tobias
check out my old post here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=19605 I am running an ESXi setup including a Digital Devices card for two years now whitout any problem! Link to comment
nars
Thank you tobias but I would really like one with good linux support to use with tvheadend. Link to comment
cableboy
Did you find a good card, who ist working out of the box? Link to comment
Ford Prefect
...it'll depend what you need...for CAM and MAPI support, YMMV with linux support. AFAIR for FTA the digital-devices cards are very popular around here, since they offer for the tuner modules to be daisy chained to the PCIe-bridge...you can have up to 8 tuners, connected to a single PCIe-x1 slot. I'd suggest to look into mythtv and vdr project forums to find out what cards work best. Link to comment
