Screws for X-Case 5 in 3 Hotswap Caddy V2.

Featured Replies

Hi!

I own a Lian-Li PC-P80. To replace the standard hard disk holders (those delivered with the case) I bought four X-Case caddies from X-Case.uk (http://www.xcase.co.uk/product-p/caddy-53v2.htm). So far I'm very pleased with the quality of the caddies and they fit just fine into the case. However, there is one thing I really don't like. The screws they delivered with the cases are very short and have a very small head. The heads are that small that they don't cover the metal plate of the PC-P80. For that reason, the screws don't lock the caddies in place. Longer screws reach into the caddies and scratch the back plates of the discs.

Does anybody have the same case and found screws that fit perfectly (the right length and a head which is just big enough to hold the caddies)?

Bye.

Thank you for your input. I used the screws which came with the unit to install the hard disks into the trays. I used two for every drive. For that purpose they are just fine. The mentioned issue of attaching the caddies to the P80 still persists.

Anyway...just let me know, if these screws will do it. Maybe you just could measure the length of the screws. I could try to get replacement in a local PC shop.

Thanks!:)

I used the screws that came with the caddies to both mount the the cages into my case and to mount the drives to the caddies.  The screws are a length of 3/16 of an inch or 4.76mm.  They are very cheap metal and will deform very easily when you screw them in/out.  You can get an extra bag of screws at the link below.  They are expensive for what they are, but are the exact screws you need and cheap in the overall build cost.  I ordered a bag of them and they work fine.

These are supposed to be the same:

Edit:  Sorry I missed the comment in you first post about the the screw head being to small for you case.  In that case more of the same will not help you.

Edit 2:  FYI if you want a quieter fan, then the Coolink SWiF2-800 Fan works.  I would get the 801 if I was doing it again.  More air for very little difference in noise

The Startech 4mm 6/32 screws are a PERFECT fit!  I recommend you get those over using your drive screws, especially if the heads are too small to mount the rack to your case.

Received my startech screws today. Indeed...they are a perfect fit for these caddies.

Bye.
