Data disk read errors during parity-sync

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm seeing some disk read errors during a parity sync. I'm running 5rc12a. I'm trying to replace my 2TB parity drive with a 4TB drive in preparation for upgrading one of my data drives to 4TB. I'm seeing some errors against one of the data drives ( sdb ) at 12% into the parity sync. I did a parity check of the old 2TB drive before I did anything and I still have that drive on the shelf.

If I elect to put the old parity drive back in how do I make unraid get all the drives back into the 'green' state again without writing anything to a drive so that I can replace the failing data drive? I'm confused about what command to issue and don't want to trash my data.

I have attached my syslog and a smart report for the drive reporting errors.

Thanks in advance,
