Single AFP share for 'user'

I want to share the entire 'user' disk to AFP, not just directories.  What is the best way to do this?

    /mnt/user is a directory and there is no easy way to share it. Make a single share with directories for all of your data.

    Maybe. I think most people are running TimeMachine in a separate share that is restricted to a single disk. There have been changes to to AFP in recent releases so what you suggest may be possible. But why?
