Newsleecher for unraid

Is there a way to run news leecher on unraid?

I was thinking of doing a VMserver on unraid, and serving a stripped down version of xp pro with newsleecher and antivirus software.

It would also be really cool to scan once a day all files for viruses on the unraid server.

Thoughts, best practices, better ideas? I use newsleecher because of the supersearch feature, which does not come in the linux flavor, unless someone wants to port or code it.

Why not use NZBGet, and one of the NZB-creating super-search site like binsearch.info?

The .info site does not work. Nor the .net site.

I think they shut it down...

 

I guess for now I will use newsleecher on windows and create .nzb files and drop thje nzb on unraid for nzbget to grab them.

Sabnzbd is way more effort to install but IMO its well worth it. The level of automation and configuration makes its almost completely automatic which is what most usenet downloaders want.

Hey NAS. I just discovered Sabnzbd and really really like it. I've been using bubbaQ's implementation of NZBGet for some time now, and don't get me wrong, it's great! But I also use XBMC and the Sabnzbd plugin available for it just takes the cake (sorry bubbaQ).

 

So you mention in your last post that "Sabnzbd is way more effort to install but IMO its well worth it." Does this mean that you've got it installed with UnRAID? If so, would you mind sharing some pointers on how you did this?

Sorry i run sab on a debian box on the net. In general im not a fan of putting usenet and p2p clients on a NAS so i never have and probably never will
