June 19, 201313 yr Hi Guys, I hope someone can help me out. I've finally gone after Plex, now that we have a couple of tablets and a compatible TV in the house. Plex installed great using Plugin... and I was then able to fire up the web interface and create "Sections" in my Library... One for Family Photos, one for Movies, and one for Television Shows just to get started... Everything but the TV shows came up pretty much right away. I left it alone for a week thinking it was maybe scanning or something... TV shows still don't work. I have pointed Plex to their proper location (/mnt/user/TV), and they're in a pretty standard format, I think, for Boxee Box (Showname\Season #\Showname.S##E##.EpisodeName.Ext). I've tried a few renamings, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Are there permissions that might be an issue? Log files to check? Thanks, Russell
June 19, 201313 yr What are the permissions of the directories/files in the TV share? Are those shows being processed and moved there automatically by something like SickBeard? If so what user is SickBeard running as? It sounds like it's probably a permission issue. If those shows are being moved there automatically by an app the app needs to be run as the user "nobody". If the permissions are wrong run the following commands: chmod -R 755 /mnt/user/TV/* chown -R nobody:users /mnt/user/TV/*
June 19, 201313 yr Author Thanks MRow, Not using Sickbeard. Moving the files there using my Windows machine. As I was waiting for a reply, I deleted my TV Section, then I used the plugin to stop Plex, then used MidnightCommander to delete the LOG files (couldn't delete them from Windows, oddly enough, permission denied). Then I used the plugin to start it again - and recreated the TV Section... And it's merrily scanning files again. I did all of this before (except deleting the logs), and it didn't work. No idea what might be different.... but I'm happy for now. (Hopefully it'll work client side!). Thanks, Russell
