Parity check: Writes, no errors

Featured Replies

After a required hard reset the parity sync shows lots of writes but no errors. The only plugin running is a SSH tool. Is this normal? I mean the picture below shows many writes. What can be the reason for this?

Thanks in advance.

What makes you think the writes are occurring because of the parity check?  Your other disks show writes, no doubt from file i/o.  Add up all the data disk writes and it's about equal to parity disk writes which makes sense.

Parity check seems to be ok, no question. But I'm simply wondering about the writes.

No other hardware running in the night, no plugins, no connectivity possible from outside the house. I'm just scatching my head about this.

Did you do a "Clear Statistics" before starting the parity check?

If not, repeat the test, but do that first (it will set all counters to zero).

The machine just came up after a required hard reset - parity check did start automatically. So, Statistics did start from the beginning.

Seems that I will not find the reason.

What is a "required hard reset"? How often is it required? I suggest that you abandon this requirement; it is not good for the server.
