June 30, 201313 yr Author I'd get a new disk while you still have good parity and a chance to recover !! I think that's what I'm gonna do first thing tomorrow (no computer stores open here on sundays...). Any tips on having the bad disk checked after I pull it? (Like on what and with what tool). It's a WD green.
July 1, 201313 yr I'd connect it to a PC and run WD's Data Lifeguard utilities -- both the short and extended tests.
July 6, 201312 yr Author I'd connect it to a PC and run WD's Data Lifeguard utilities -- both the short and extended tests. Runnig that now! (Disk connected through SATA/USB adapter)
July 28, 201312 yr Author So just to add a final comment to this, yes, DLG Tools failed the disk witht he longer test, so I will just be tossing it (maybe doing a wipe first on whatever can be done just to be safe before dumping it). I want to change this to solved but I don't see any options for changing the title or whatever. How does one do that? Thanks! EDIT: n/m, Found it!
